SEASON OPENS IN STYLE STATE PENNANT 1 & HEAD OF THE HUON

The 2026/27 Tasmanian rowing season is officially underway. Over the weekend of 17–18 October, crews from right across the state gathered on the Huon River at Franklin for State Pennant 1 on Saturday and the Head of the Huon on Sunday. The river put on its best show. Both days delivered about as close to perfect conditions as you could ask for, and athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and families made the most of it. It was the ideal way to open a season that promises a lot.
