Calendar changes for new season
The Board of Rowing Tasmania endorsed the 2024-2025 regatta calendar earlier this month.
The new season's calendar - view it here - includes several changes implemented by the Regatta Commission, based on feedback from our members.
One significant update is that we will host two same-day junior regattas in the North/North West and in the South of the state - one before Christmas and one in 2025. This change aims to reduce travel for our junior members and their families.
However, to successfully run two regattas simultaneously in different locations, we will need additional personnel resources. If we do not receive sufficient assistance, we may have to revert to a single combined regatta.
If you would like to assist and start to learn to be a boat race official please contact our General Manager Operations Sarah Black operations@rowingtasmania.com au
The Tasmanian Club Championship will now conclude the season, providing club athletes aiming for Australian Rowing Championships optimal timing to peak in performance for ARC at Lake Barrington in 2025.
Additionally, we are excited to announce the inclusion of an Indoor Rowing event in mid-September. Following the Olympics, we aim to engage our rowing community and attract new participants from gyms, surf life-saving clubs, and those interested in trying rowing for the first time.
More details on this event will be released soon.
Exciting times ahead for the 2024-2025 regatta season!

Get behind the Rowsellas!
The Australian Olympic Committee has selected a 37-strong team across nine boats to contest the 2024 Paris Olympics rowing regatta at the Vires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium in Paris - and among the rowers representing Australia is former Huon rower Sarah Hawe (TIS).
Do you have your Olympic rowing "watch party" ready to fire up in support of Sarah and her Rowsellas teammates?
The rowing schedule for Paris 2024 begins on July 27 with the men's single sculls heats (5pm AEST) and ends on August 3 with the women's 8+ medal race at 6.50pm and the men's 8+ medal race at 7.10pm (both times are AEST).
