Head over to the link here, or click on the tile above, and register your interest to volunteer. Your help makes all the difference!
The below pictures are of new pontoons being built by Mick Goodger and his hard-working team of volunteers at Lake Barrington in preparation for the Championships.
AMRC2025 trailer transport
Simon Nowell at Mersey Rowing Club has been successful in getting a booking on the Bass Strait ferry for a car and trailer to go the Australian Masters Rowing Championships in Sydney next year.
Masters who want to book a space on the trailer should contact Simon directly on 0439 369 006 or simon.nowell@elders.com.au. Spots are already filling fast, so don't delay getting in touch!
Safety checks at Regattas
Volunteers will undertake boat safety checks in the boat park at Regattas - including School Regattas - before crews go on the water. Checks include correctly attached bow balls, correct length heel ties, quick release shoe ties and intact hatch covers to ensure they are in line with safety requirements.
Please ensure these comply before heading to the ways.
If you are not sure what the requirements are then ask your coach, director of rowing or a BRO for help.
You can view the Rowing Safety Bow Balls & Heel Ties video produced by Rowing Tasmania and MAST here, or by clicking on the above picture.
Rowing Tasmania has other informative safety documents and videos on our website. Please make the time to familiarise yourself with them.
MAST on water safety checks, inspections
MAST will be commencing on water safety checks and inspections in the upcoming weeks.
Our rowers and coaches should make sure they have all their required safety equipment and that lights on all boats meet the regulations and are in good working order.
Check out the MAST Rules for lighting on paddle craft and rowing shells video here.

Annual Report feedback thanks
The Rowing Tasmania Annual Report 2024 is available on our website or by clicking on the front cover image above.
As designer and editor of the past two Annual Reports, I thank the many people who have provided such positive feedback on the finished 2024 product.
It takes several months to collate the content for an annual report and present what I hope is an interesting and engaging end result.
Special thanks to photographers Owen Fielding (Tasmanian club and school regattas) and Andrew Guerin (AMRC2024 and ARC2024) whose images are used throughout the Annual Report 2024 to help build a visually appealing final design (created using design app Canva). - ROXANNE CASEY
Camping at Lake Barrington
Caravans and tents are a big part of the "ritual" of a regatta weekend at Lake Barrington.
But there are a few things of which you need to be aware:
- Caravans can be left onsite from Junior Regatta North/North West, Club Regatta 3 and Club Regatta 4 at the owners' risk
- No tents are to be left onsite during this period
- All caravans must be offsite by the Sunday night of Club Regatta 4 at the latest
- Caravans can come back onsite the week before Club Regatta 5
- When setting up your van/tents please be mindful of not taking up extra space as camping space is limited
- THERE IS TO BE NO GREY WATER DISCHARGED ON TO THE GROUND as the site is a Parks and Wildlife Nature Reserve.
Click on the Regatta Calendar banner above for the full season calendar, with information on each regatta.

Head of the Charles Regatta
Four Tasmanian rowers competed in the two World Lightweight Rowing Alliance (WLRA) AUS 8+ crews that raced at the 2024 Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River in Boston, USA, in October.
The Australian lightweight women's 8+, which included Buckingham Rowing Club members Verayna Zilm and Phoebe Teale (currently rowing for Sydney University BC while pursuing her studies) secured victory in their event by just 0.6 seconds over Boston University in an exciting sprint finish.
North Esk Rowing Club's Oscar Birtwistle and Tasmania University Boat Club's Angus Paynter were members of the WLRA AUS men's lightweight 8+ that finished 10th of the 13 crews in their event.
You can read Verayna's summary of her HOTCR experience here.

A belated but big thank you to those who participated in the Rowing Tasmania Indoor Rowing Championships on September 14 at Co-Op Toyota in Hobart.
