RT Schools Commission | Call for Expressions of Interest
Published Tue 03 Dec 2024
The Board of Rowing Tasmania (RT) is establishing a Schools Commission (see Terms of Reference*).
The Commission's responsibilities are to:
- Convey views and opinions from the schools rowing community,
- Advise the Board about the interests of school rowing,
- Consider questions and issues referred by the CEO or the Board, and
- Make recommendations to the Board about the management and conduct of schools rowing.
As with other RT Commissions, the Schools Commission in not a decision-making body. However, inclusive, well-founded proposals that benefit the schools rowing community and rowing across Tasmania generally would be expected to be looked upon favourably.
The Board is seeking expressions of interest from individuals and clubs who support school rowing, together with traditional (SATIS) and non-traditional rowing schools. The Commission will be gender diverse and represent school rowers' interests across the State.
An online information session to explain the Terms of Reference and to answer any queries will be held via Teams on Thursday, December 12, from 5.00-5.30pm. You can register for the briefing here: Schools Commission Briefing - Rowing Tasmania
We ask your assistance in sharing this information within your networks and identifying people who would like to contribute to the continued success of school rowing in Tasmania.
Expressions of Interest should be addressed to the Rowing Tasmania Board and will close on Wednesday, December 18.
EoIs and any queries may be directed to the Board's Chair, Tina Maher chair@rowingtasmania.com.au , or our GM Operations and Development, Sarah Black operations@rowingtasmania.com.au
The Board looks forward to working with the Commission and is excited about the opportunities it may bring.
Tina Maher
Chair, Rowing Tasmania Board
