Rowing Tasmania Rules of Racing changes

Rowing Tasmania has endorsed the following amendments to the Rules of Racing for the coming season.

 

Rule 5. PENNANT POINTS

5.10 Apportioned points shall be awarded to any crew composed of athletes from more than one Club or

School (i.e. composite crew).

 

Rule 19.MASTERS AND NOVICES

 

19.1 A Master rower (formerly known as veterans) shall be placed in the age category corresponding to the age which he or she attains during the current year. The age categories are:

A. Minimum age 27 years

B. Average age 36 years

C. Average age 43 years

D. Average age 50 years

E. Average age 55 years

F. Average age 60 years

G. Average age 65 years

H. Average age 70 years

I. Average age 75 years

J. Average age 80 years

K. Average age 83 years

L. Average age 86 years

M. Average age 89 years or more

Rule 20. Coxswains

 

20.3 The minimum weight for a coxswain (in racing uniform) is 55 kilograms for all coxswains (except there is no minimum weight for U 17 Events)

The weighing scales should indicate the weight of a coxswain to 0.1 kg.

20.4 To make up this weight the coxswain may carry a maximum of 15 kgs of dead weight. No article of racing equipment shall be considered as part of this dead weight. This dead weight shall be carried in a sealed bag or bags and shall be placed in the boat as close as possible to the coxswain.

20.5.There shall be no minimum weight for coxswains in races for Masters or Novice or Under 17 events.
