Regatta Season-CLUB
October to December 2020
SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
With the welcomed increase in attendance numbers from 500 to 1000 people, this has allowed some more flexibility as we approach the start of our season, below is what we anticipate the first part of the season (Pennant 1-4) will look like.
- Regatta format will revert to a normal program.
- Pennant’s 1-2 will be at Franklin.
- The Huon Rowing Club has advised that there will be no camping.
- Pennant’s 3-4 will be at Lake Barrington.
- The Pennant Point Series will be reinstated, if a normal season cannot be held due to COVID or other unforeseen circumstances there will not be a Pennant Series point score.
- Each event's entries will be closely monitored to ensure that the 1000 limit (including spectators) is not exceeded.
- All events will be conducted under a COVID Safety plan with coaches, officials, volunteers to register through Rowing Tasmania for contact tracing purposes, this link will be published in the weeks before SP-1. Note: athlete’s information will be captured through the Rowing Manager program.
- From SP-4 onwards we see the entry numbers increase so there may well be restrictions on spectators firstly and other sections as required, Athletes, Coaches, and Event Volunteers will have priority.
- Camping at Lake Barrington will be as normal.
- Each Club and School are to be responsible for their athletes and members as per the requested COVID Regatta Safety Plan.
- A school update will be published mid-October.
The responsibility to conduct COVID-compliant events rests with all the Tasmanian rowing community and we strongly urge you to continue to be COVID safe as we will no doubt be under scrutiny from Public Health and others.
All our events are subject to the directions of the Director of Public Health and Rowing Tasmania will continue to work with the relevant government departments to ensure the safety of those attending or events.
Further updates will be published as required.
