Rowing Tasmania has been granted approval by Public Health Tasmania for the holding of the below listed pre-Christmas events:
- State Club Regatta #3.
- Schools Regatta #1.
- State Club Regatta #4.
- Note-the Junior School Quad events are exempt from wearing masks as there will not be 1000+ persons at both events.
The calendared events in 2022 have been given Conditional approval, subject to a review of earlier events and consideration of COVID-19 trends in Tasmania in early to mid-January 2022.
Any review may result in additional conditions and will take into account the inherent risks of the events including.
- Age of the participants.
- Vaccination coverage.
- Risk due to camping.
- Remoteness.
From and including State Club Regatta #3 the following conditions will apply:
- Masks must be worn at all RTAS regattas.
- The Junior Quad Regatta at NNRC and the Tamar are excluded from the wearing of masks.
- Mask can be removed by competitors when they have launched their boat(s) and are on the “Field of Play’ (the water) Masks will need to be worn when the competitors return to the ways or launching area and be put on BEFORE they get out of the boat(s). On water Officials,Volunters and Boat Drivers mask wearing is optional but strongly recommended.

- It is the responsibility of each individual to supply their own mask.
- All persons 16 years and above will be required to use the Check in Tas App and scan the LBIRC-QR code when they come onto the regatta grounds at the Lake Barrington International Rowing Centre (LBIRC).
- Social distancing and hygiene rules apply.
Camping.
- Camping is only available to persons who are from the (62)-telephone district (Southern Tasmania), the Southern Midlands and residents of both the East and West Coasts.
- Camping is not available to those from the North (63) and Northwest (64).
- Campers (one registration per family) must register for each regatta using the Track N Trace link https://www.rowingtasmania.com.au/events/119644/
- Please print off or save to your smart phone the email generated ticket as this may be checked by Officers from Public Health, Worksafe Tasmania, Tasmania Police or a Rowing Tasmania Volunteer.
- Campers must also use the check in Tas App to scan the LBIRC-QR Code.
Rowing Tasmania strongly urges all attending our regattas to abide by the conditions placed on our events so we can complete our season of calendared events.
Please note:
- Updates will be distributed on the post-Christmas events in Early to mid-January 2021 or as required.
- The Mass Gathering Direction from Public Health may change at any time and further conditions or restrictions to our events may be required.
