Boat Race Officiating Training Evening.
Hobart
Rowing Tasmania is seeking people who may be interested in being trained to assist in various tasks of Boat Race Officiating. In particular, there is a need to increase the number of on-water Boat Race Officials to ensure regattas can continue to be run both safely and efficiently.
All clubs and schools have been recently contacted advising of the need to increase the number of trained officials and seeking potential nominees.
Please be advised that a training seminar on Boat Race Officiating is to be conducted at the:
Derwent Mercantile Collegiate Rowing Club.
Monday 6th November
Starting at 6.30pm and finishing at 9.00pm.
The Seminar will include a general overview of all officiating roles with an emphasis on on-water umpiring plus outlining the BRO Pathway and requirements needed to becoming an Accredited BRO. The primary intention of the seminar is to present the theory on officiating roles so that participants may then decide whether they may wish to continue on to undertake further practical training in any of the various officiating roles needed to properly conduct a rowing regatta.

It is intended that a similar seminars will also be run in the North and North West.
