ARC 2021 call for volunteers

Published Tue 15 Dec 2020

Good afternoon

As you know, Tasmania is hosting the 2021 Australian Rowing Championships (ARC) which incorporates the Australian Schools Championships and the King’s and Queen’s Cups Interstate Regatta from Monday 22 to Sunday 28 March next year.

As a valued member of the Tasmanian rowing community, you are invited to participate in this exciting event.

There are many volunteer opportunities available all of which are rewarding and contribute to a positive experience for the athletes, families and spectators. Whilst some of the roles are similar to our Tassie regattas there are many others and information about them can be found on the ARC website

If you would like more specific job information or details as to the role, responsibilities and requirements, they are available online. Some roles such as boat drivers and boat holders are not available at this stage but may open up later.

Of course, COVID-19 has impacted our sport and will continue to do so. At this stage we are expecting that the full program will proceed and are planning accordingly.  Rowing Australia have issued a statement, which will be reviewed monthly, on the state of play.

Like other regattas at Lake Barrington this season, camping will not be available at the venue due to COVID and as all areas are required for event management, team tents, commercial operators and parking.

You are invited to register to volunteer to be part of this event, the pinnacle of Australian rowing. At this stage it is an expression of interest and you will be able to nominate which days and shifts you are available for as these are confirmed.

If you have any questions please get in touch on volunteers@rowingaustralia.com.au or by return email.

We want to make the Tasmanian ARC experience a very special one and with your knowledge, skills and enthusiasm have every expectation it will be memorable.

Regards

Tina
