Organisation Overview

Rowing Tasmania Inc is the State Sporting Organisation responsible for the development, promotion, and governance of the sport of rowing in Tasmania ranging from school to masters rowers. The organisation is responsible for the different rowing disciplines, including coastal and indoor rowing.

Rowing Tasmania is a not-for-profit organisation governed by the Board of Rowing Tasmania. Rowing Tasmania is one of seven State/Territory Associations, which make up the membership of the national body, Rowing Australia.

Position Overview

The position assists with the conduct and management of the business of Rowing Tasmania by providing administrative support.

This support includes, but is not limited to, undertaking administrative tasks, managing an online sports management platform, processing correspondence, liaison with members and other organisation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide effective and efficient administrative support services for Rowing Tasmania.
  • Liaise with and provide information to external stakeholders including schools, clubs and Rowing Australia.
  • Maintain the member information recorded in the electronic register by using the online sporting platform and the management of the associated data.
  • Request the raising of invoices on behalf of Rowing Tasmania.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of membership invoices in the online membership platform.
  • Assist with social media.
  • Contribute to the filing of hard copy and electronic information.

Selection Criteria

Essential Criteria

  • High level oral and written communications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of online sporting platform covering registrations and invoicing.
  • Demonstrated ability with administrative procedures.
  • Ability to work in a small team as well as proven capacity for self-motivation and integrity, together with a highly developed ability to prioritise workloads and exercise initiative and flexibility to problem solve.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Drivers Licence.
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Check (or ability to apply prior to commencement in the role).

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge and understanding of the sport of rowing and the workings of the not-for- profit sector is preferred.
     

Term and

Hours of work

The role is part-time.

Up to 15 hours per week. Extra hours may be negotiated during peak period of the rowing season.
