A major item in our Strategic Plan is the revision of our Constitution to make it consistent with governance arrangements required by Sport Australia, Communities Sport and Recreation Tasmania, and Rowing Australia.

A proposed constitution has been developed by the Board based on the Tasmanian Government’s model constitution for community organisations, and incorporating the governance arrangement developed by Rowing Australia through their 2015 Governance Development Project. That project incorporated the Sport Australia “Mandatory Governance Principles” for sporting organisations.

These forums provide members with an opportunity to be briefed on the contemporary environment in which sporting organisations are required to operate, and on the proposed constitution drafted to respond to this environment.

The forums will be facilitated by Community Sport and Recreation Tasmania with whom the Board has worked in preparing the proposed constitution.
