 Learning Life through Sport (LLTS) is a culture enhancing program that creates safe and inclusive environments for all participants in junior sport, including players, coaches, umpires, parents and spectators.  It is designed to create positive game day experiences based on the three values of sportsmanship, respect and trying your hardest. 

LLTS anticipated outcomes

  • Culture enhancement/change
  • Positive game day environments for everyone involved in sport
  • Safe and inclusive environments
  • Respect for umpires/referees, promoting umpire/referee retention
  • Teaching life values through sport - sportsmanship, respect and trying your hardest
  • Fostering connection and goodwill between competing teams
  • Reduction in game day behavioural issues, hence freeing up wasted time following up behaviour issues the following week
  • Improving resilience of young sports people 
  • Focussing on learning life skills above winning games therefore reducing performance anxiety in young athletes
  • Junior sports people feeling emotionally supported (positive mental health support)
  • Becoming a destination sport attracting and retaining families
