Our rowers on the national stage

A large contingent of Rowing Tasmania athletes will head to Penrith, NSW, to compete at the Australian Rowing Championships held at Sydney International Regatta Centre next week.

We'd like to wish our participating rowers and coaches every success as they represent Rowing Tasmania, their clubs and their schools at Australia's premier rowing event.

Rowing Tasmania last week announced those athletes selected in the State Team to represent Tasmania at the 2024 Interstate Regatta on Sunday, March 24. If you missed the announcement you can click here for the list of rowers and coaches who will represent our state. Congratulations to all!

SAVE THE DATE: 2025 Australian Rowing Championships and Interstate Regatta will be at beautiful Lake Barringinton International Rowing Course from March 24-30, 2025.

Time for caravans to be removed

As we approach the end of our season ALL caravans are to be removed from the camping grounds at the Lake Barrington rowing precint by this coming Sunday, March 17.

The complex will be utilised in the coming weeks for several functions, camps etc and we will be hosting Defence Australia for an exercise plus carrying out maintenance in preparation for the BONT Australian Masters Rowing Championships.


State election - don't forget to vote

Heading to the Australian Rowing Championships? Don't forget to vote before you go!

Polling day for the 2024 State election is Saturday, March 23. Voting is compulsory for electors in all five House of Assembly (lower house) divisions.

The Tasmanian Electoral Commission advises that if you are unable to vote in person at a polling place on polling day, you may be eligible to vote early. The following options are available:

  • vote in person at a pre-poll centre, or
  • vote by phone (interstate and overseas electors only), or
  • apply to vote by post.

Volunteer now for AMRC2024

With the Australian Masters Rowing Championships fast  approaching Rowing Tasmania is in full swing with preparations and looking for more volunteers to assist us with running the event.

The roles we are currently looking to fill include:

  • Boat drivers
  • Boat holders
  • Timekeepers
  • Parking assistants
  • Camera operator

Business Register for our members

Rowing Tasmania is excited to announce a Business Register for our members. 

The Business Register will be a dedicated section on our website where Rowing Tasmania members can showcase their businesses. The initiative aims to create a platform for our community to support one another in their professional endeavours.

Autumn Masters Regatta

Masters rowers of all skill levels are invited to enter the New Norfolk Rowing Club's annual Autumn Masters Regatta, to be held on the Derwent River at New Norfolk on Saturday, April 13.

Sculling races (1x, 2x, 4x) will be held before the lunch break. After lunch, sweep races (2-, 4+/-, 8+) will be held.

Seat fees are $30/rower for the day and payment on the day at NNRC would be appreciated.

2024 Head of the River

SATIS schools will converge on LBIRC tomorrow (March 16) for the 2024 Head of the River regatta.

Twelve independent schools from across the state will compete for bragging rights, with the Schoolboys and Schoolgirls 8+ marquee events finishing off the day.
